I backed up OE Msg Files to a CDRW. The attributes on these files are
Read-Only. It is my understanding that OE can not see these files
because a of the read-only attribute. Right or wrong? How can files
be restored to OE so as to be recognized? Thanks in advance.

Gordon:

Thnaks for your reply. Went to web site. Downloaded Quick file to
backup e-mail. Backup worked, but I was not able to change read-on
attribute on backed up files on CD .

You can't. CDROM = CD *R*ead *O*nly *M*emory.

Copy the files to your HDD to work with them.

And after copying them back to HD, remember to reset RO-attribute

1. Copy the DBX files to a desktop folder created for this purpose.

2. Remove the Read Only attribute all of the DBX files will have by default.

3. OE: File > Import > Messages > select OE6 > Import from a store folder >
point the wizard to the desktop folder
