Are there limitations to the number of incremental backups that the Backup
utility will preform? I seem to only see 30 in the backup folder and then
none after that. Thank you for any replies.

I honestly do not know whether there is a programmed limitation on
incremental backups in Microsoft Backup. However, I can tell you from a
best practices POV that 30 incrementals is way too much to carry. The
more incrementals the greater the risk of loss if one of them should
become unusable.

Thanks for your reply, what would be your best practice recommendation?
Normal, differential? We are backing up My Docs, .pst file, and favorites to
a network attached storage device (NAS). This is a stop gap measure until we
get the user profiles to route to a network share. There is no Exchange
server.

I'm not trying to avoid giving you answer, however best practices for
backup depends very much on the environment and the available hardware.
For example, is this for your home network, for a business, are
databases involved, what software is used for backing up, etc. etc.

A web search will get you much more information than can be written in a
news post. Tons more. And from people who work in your type of environment.
