Backup is running in task mgr but no window comes up

Just like I said. I installed NT Backup from the XP disk. I run it and the
hourglass pops up for 5 seconds and task manager shows it running, but the
window never pops up. Then, when I shut down the computer, the ending
program window comes up as it's shutting down ntbackup.exe. Any ideas?
 
Are you sure it was properly installed...Also,you need to start it from the
installed icon in hd properties,or tools,one must also edit the start of it
"customize" or default..Either way,try uninstalling it & reinstall later.
 
Did as you said, uninstalled, reinstalled. Opened from HD properties -
Tools. Same result after clicking on it. Running under processes (not Apps)
in Task Mgr, but no window ever comes up.
