I inadvertently "moved" my .pst file instead of copying it when backing up to CD. Now the data is gone from my hard drive and the file on the cd is "read only" I have tried every option I know to try to copy or import it back onto my hard drive to no avail. Almost 5 hours cummulative trying to get phone help via microsoft - can someone please save me?????

What happens when you try to copy it back to your hard drive? Outlook won't
be able to access it from the CD...

When you copy the file off of the CD the Read-Only attribute is still set. After copying the file off the CD, right click on it, choose properties, and clear the "Read-Only" checkbox.

WHen I try to copy it I get the following
message..."cannot copy "filename": Windows is unable to
find file. This item might have already been deleted or
moved." However if I search the cd for the file it pops
right up. I have also tried to "uncheck" read only but it
won't accept it. I have been searching for an article
that might apply, I found something about "scripting" but
it went way over my head!!
