I am trying to use backup in RC1 but only 1 of my HD's is visible.I clicked
on the link in the program that says why dont i see my hard drive,it brings
up a help window, but nothing in that window has to do with the hard drive
not being visible.Any ideas?

heres an idea...

tell us what kind of drives you have and how theyre attached

I have 2 IDE drives,C and D,internal,nothing complicated.I just want to back
up to C and only D,where vista is installed, shows.

you wont be able to back up a drive and store it on the same drive... thats
probably what youre doing.

in other words, you cant backup c and d and store it on d

There is nothing on the drive I want to back up to,its totally empty. Its the
only reason i put it in the system is to back up to it.Maybe its just RC1's
backup doesnt work right or something.

if youre backing up ONLY the c drive, and saving it on the d drive, it
should work... as long as D is a separate PHYSICAL drive, and not just a
partition on the C drive

Yep,separate drives. No idea why it wont work, just my bad luck i guess.I am
running RC1 which seems to have a lot of bugs,I just ended up dragging and
dropping the folders i wanted to back up onto the drive manually.I would
like to have the scheduling features, etc but oh well,i can just do it once
every few days by hand i guess. Thanks for all your help.

you have to get rid of rc1 in the first place. its not even worth playing
with anymore

I know,I missed the RC2 download :( I just have to wait to buy the final
release in a few weeks i guess.

I'm using backup on rc2. I have one physical drive with 3 partitions on it.
I have rc2 installed to my c: partition and I do backups to my d: partition.
both partitions being on the same physical drive does not seem to cause any
problems. I even have and 1.5GB e: boot partition w/bitlocker enabled. I'm
totally pleased with how this configuration performs.

Are you trying to do a CompletePC Backup?

The drive you are backing up to has to be formatted
NTFS and not FAT32. Check it and see.

It may have to be on a different controller to be detected properly for the
backup program.
