backup files

i know that xp home doesn't have a backup installed in system tools, and i
need the xp home cd rom to manually install it. is the xp home recovery cd
the same cd rom that i need to manually install it? that's all i was given
when i purchasd my area-51 machine from alienware.com. thanx
