Backup files in use

How do i set my registry key to backup files in use?
At present I have a batch file running ntbackup.exe but it skips files in
use

So far as I know, there's no way to do that. Even if you could, you
wouldn't get anything useful. If a process is writing to the file, a copy
is likely to be garbled -- not something you'd want to restore.

Agree, but it may be a special case for example of system registry hive
files, which ntbackup can backup in a System State or ERD type backup.
