Backup fails so no upgrade

When I applied SP1 everything broke. When I attempt to open my existing
database, I am told that it must be upgraded but requires a backup first.
When BCM attempts to back up the database, it stops when trying to compress
the backup file and claims that "some errors occurred during Backup." There
are no other options for repair or extract. I have discovered that I can
create a brand new database and attempt to back it up and I get the same
exact error. I have uninstalled and reloaded multiple times with the same
exact problem. I still have the data in my Chapura Key Contacts on my Pilot,
but it seems that the Key Contacts information is only one-way, meaning that
Outlook can update my Pilot only. Chapura does not have anyway to move the
Business Contacts back to the standard Contacts, so I am stuck having to
rekey all of my contacts! Better than loosing everything, but it would be
even better if you know how to resolve the update issue!

Does your user account have Computer Administrator rights on that system?

It should be possible to fix this. What SP1 did you apply? I think we are up
to SP2 anyway. Typically, when a service pack breaks something, Microsoft
support is at no charge.

Try cleaning up the Temp folder. Start, Run, %temp%, OK

Try creating a new Outlook profile. Close Outlook, go to Control Panel,
(classic view), Mail, choose to have to be prompted for a profile.

How much disk space do you have available?
