'Cause it wasn't designed for it. You will need to use a different backup
medium (tape drive, extra hard drive, network storage), or a different
backup program. If you map the drive as a network drive, you can do this if
there is packet-writing software installed (the native buring program won't
support it), but you still can't span disks.
