backup database

I received a new computer and now when I open my access database it creates a
copy of the database when I close out of the database. Is there a way to shut
this off.

You didn't mention what version of Access or whether this is a computer on a
network or not. It does sound like Compact on Close has been checked and
that you do not have Delete permissions. I would suggest you uncheck that
box... I would tell you where but that depends on what version of Access.
If this database is on a server tell your Adminisitrator to check your
permissions.

I have access 2003 and the database is on my c drive. Where do I check the
compact on close button.
