Backup and restore center

Before I installed Windows Vista RC 2, I made a backup of some files in
Windows XP using it's own backup and restore program. This created a bkf
file. This file isn't recognised, not even with online file extension service
for Windows XP, while it was even made with a Windows XP tool!

I tried to open it with the new Backup and Restore Center to retrieve my
e-mail's and documents using advanced restore, but it still isn't recognised.
On the bottom of the application was this link:
"How do I restore from a backups made using a previous version of windows?"
Clicking this link shows only the main vista website however, where I can
find no such information anywhere.

Coul someone please tell me how to open this bkf file in vista?

I'm having the same experience exactly moving from XP to Vista RC1. I just
want my data files. How can I get to them from within RC1?

We are working on a utility that allows you to restore backups made in XP to
Windows Vista. Until this tool or some other documented workaround is
available, you won't be able to restore your XP backup into Vista.
