Backup Aborts

I am backing up the XP registry prior to usuing Symantecs System Works removal program. Back up starts, then "fails." "Error message returned while creating the volume shadow copy:80042301 Aborting Backup." This occurs whether I am backing up to hard drive, floppy (A;), or Zip.

Please make suggestions! Thank you!
 
Run REGEDIT and click on Export to where you want to put it such as in My Documents, Floppy "A" (may not fit), or a ZIP drive. You can even put it on a
CD-RW after you've formatted it.
