What happens when you try a different keyboard?

Thank you for your quick reply. And I understand that
it's a slash not a backslash./

A different keyboard? No such luck. We're a nonprofit
and do not have one. Is this keyboard dying?/

Could be. Keys maybe sticking.

Yes, might be dying. Try a keyboard from another computer, and if it works,
your non-profit organization will need to spring for a new one, or you'll
have to continue using //// ;-)

BTW, I'm here in Huntsville, also.

Is this the only computer in your office? If not, just borrow one from
another computer for a moment just to test whether or not it's the keyboard
(which is what I suspect).

If it is a bad keyboard, a replacement can be had for $10 or just a little
more. If you have any partnerships with local businesses, see if they can
spare one (or two, just in case). Although there are expensive keyboards
out there, the cheap ones are practically disposable. Almost any office
that has multiple computers will surely have a spare.

Good luck,

Thanks, guys! I tried another keyboard and the enter key
worked well - no slash. We'll get another one. Just glad
it's not the computer!/

Still slashing...;-)/

Thanks, Tom. Doesn't the chilly wind outside make it feel
like fall? I've spoken with our bookkeeper and it looks
as if I get to go to Staples!/

Slashing on Franklin Street at The Land Trust...Cathie

It *is* fall, Cathie! Which made me wonder what the heck was going on
weather-wise yesterday.

Not slashing on Governors Drive at Sharp Communication..Tom

I'm a '76 graduate of UTC in Chattanooga. We just moved
here a year ago. My husband's now the Sr. IBM systems
engineer at Huntsville Hospital. So, I can't say "Oh, do
you know..." However, the new HHS is going up fast.
Students are still in the old building, but should move in
next fall. (Hope the Travelog group is allowed to use the
new auditorium. They'll probably have a memorial service
or go into withdrawal.) Next time you are close
to "home," go by your alma mater. Hope you'll be
pleasantly surprised.

Tom...look! Brought another keyboard from home. No
slashes!! Yay!!!

What does Sharp Communication do? Just curious. Pretty
new in town and am trying to learn. How weird that you're
just down the street!

Cathie

I haven't been to Huntsville in a few years, but still have friends (like
Tom, and some old HS friends as well) there. Just don't have much time to
travel. But I'll check out the school next time I make it there.
