I have a really basic question but I cant seem to change
the backround color of windows (where the default is
white) like on aol the backround for mail and favorites
etc. I work online for hours a day and the white bothers
my eyes. I went and changed some settings and cant seem
to get the colors I had on there back.

Hi Rose,

Right click on your desktop to get the dropdown menu and select Properties.
Left click on the Appearance tab. In the Scheme dropdown menu scroll down to
Windows Standard and select it. Left click on Apply or OK.

Happy computing,
Dannie

Right click Desktop | Properties | Appearance tab |
Advanced button | Under Item: click the V to expand the menu |
Scroll down and select Window | For backgound select Color 1 |
Pick a color | You can preview before you hit the Apply button |
OK your way out

My goodness, don't pick red!! ;-) Try a shade of gray.
Or a whiter shade of pale. Nyuk, nyuk.
