Hi All,

Two questions today that I'd appreciate the groups help with...

Firstly, can I use ntbackup.exe command line methods to do incremental
backups of the complete 'documents and settings'
folders on both local and remote computers ?
Are there any issues to be aware of ?
Obviously I need to have permissions on all machines ?

Secondly, what is the value of doing a system state backup using
ntbackup.exe as opposed to using the system restore function ?
I understand that the system state backup is a 'normal' backup type, ie. if
set to replace, you only ever have the last good copy
of your system state.

Thanks,

Neil

For the second question...

The system Restore is a cache. What gets cached-in will eventually get cached-out. Using a
backup application that backs up the System State is on "other" media that you have control
of, not the OS.
