Can anybody kindly help me with the steps to follow for
backing up my entire Media Player 9 contents onto an
external hard drive ,
thanks in anticipation .

Ideally I'd like to keep the WMP 9 library on external
hard disc and access it this way freeing up my internal
for other work .

.

Open Windows Explorer (Start/All
Programs/Accessories/Windows Explorer - now locate your
entire Media Player 9 contents (folders column). Click
the first listing and hold down the Shift Key and click
the last entry. That will highlight the entire listing.
Rightclick anyone of the highlighted entries and
click "Copy". Now locate your external harddrive
(lefthand column maybe drive "F"), rightclick it and
click "Paste", the entire listing will be copied to the
external harddrive.
Note: You can create a directory name first on the
external drive before "copying and pasting" so you can
paste directly to that directory for better file
maintenance. If you want to be selective on each file,
instead of holding the Shift Key, hold down to Ctrl key
where you can do one at a time but that could take a long
time if you have an extensive library.
