Backing up Windows2000 Server

I just inherited a win2k server and really really hate NTBackup. I
have a tape drive on the server that I would like to backup to. Can
anyone provide some alternative software options to NTBackup?

Many people use BackupExec.

There is some justification for your dislike of ntbackup. At
the same time you should extend these feelings towards tape
backups. They are slow, difficult to manage and can have
reliability problems. You could use some 2.5" disks in external
USB cases to eliminate these problems. This would allow you
to use xcopy.exe as a backup command, perhaps complemented
by ntbackup.exe to back up the System State. Recovery from
these disks is a breeze!
