Beware Nova software or Novaback backup software. Good pitch for backup but
crap and morons for tech support.

John, buy and install a 2nd hard drive. Then purchase Ghost or Drive Image
and create images of your XP partition and store them on the 2nd disk.
While you can image to cd's once your disk starts growing in size it's just
not worth the hassle of keeping track of multiple cd's.

I agree, a WD external 160 gig hard drive is $179
also a DVD burner is about the same.

Planning ahead can save lots of heartburn.

I have 2 80 gig hard drives, I use Ghost to clone them - takes about
an hour for all.

I have partitioned the drives into 3 parts system, programs and data.
I also save a copy of the registry. The export of the registry has
saved me a 'total install' when I lost a drive once.
