Native NTBackup can back up to a file, and I don't see why you couldn't
specify the USB drive if you have a drive letter assigned to it.

Can anyone recommend software to back up a complete W2K system to a USB
drive.
I've heard Norton Ghost sucks!
Thanks

Acronis makes an image, but it cannot store it in the same partition
as the image. Works in WIN2K w/o booting to dos. If you can see the
USB drive and donot have to span disks, it should work OK. It will
also write to a cdrom but (I think) at only 4X.

Hi Steven,

My experience is that Ghost 2003 works quite well with a USB 2.0 drive.
Caution: It doesn't work if the USB drive is plugged into a USB hub or PCMIA
card.

Good
luck, Dan Schaffer

I use Drive Image, by PowerQuest. The new version, 7, can
image the system partition on the fly, without exiting to
DOS.
