BREIFCASE may be the software to do this but not sure and
i am not sure if i have this installed, i am running
windows XP HOME EDITION 2002 WITH SERVICE PACK 1)

Hi Wayne,

If you have a retail version of WinXP Home (it's not installed by default,
you need to add it, many OEM recovery disks do not have it), you can install
the ntbackup utility and setup a daily task to copy that (and any other
folder) to another drive using differential backups.

Hi,

Should be under programs/accessories/system tools

Or, just enter ntbackup.exe into a start/run prompt.

Just be aware that this NTbackup doesn't give you a hot spare, which
sounds like what you want. If you want a hot spare drive, you need to
clone your hard drive to it, using one of many available third-party
tools to clone disks. Then you need to set the partition active. If your
first disk fails, then you can switch boot devices and boot from the
alternate drive.

You want a disk copy utility that can differentially copy one disk to
the other, to save time catching up.

If you want a real time mirror, you need a hardware solution, using
RAID.
