I have installed vista ultimate on to my F: partition. On my C: partition
is a copy of XP Professional. I have a 500 GB external drive sitting on my
USB. I want to format it and create four partitions, two of my C drive and
two for my F drive, one partition each as an active backup for my C/F
partitions, and two more as an archival backup for those partitions.

I know that involves the Management Console which I have never used. Could
somebody please tell me how to both install the Management Console and had
to use it properly?

Thanks!

Nothing to install.

Start > diskmgmt.msc
Your usb disk should show up. Right-click on it and create your partitions.

This disk was previously used. How do I combine adjacent disks (such as K:
and L:) into a single larger volume (new K:=old K:+L:)and how can I combine
two non-adjacent disks (new K:=old K: + old P:)

Easy to accomplish in Partition Magic..........

Thanks!
