Backing up the Registry

How do I back up the registry in WindowsXP? In Windows98
there were tools to do this, but I can't even find a
reference to it in the Microsoft knowledge base for
WindowsXP.

The best way to backup/restore the Registry is with ERunt:

There are various drawbacks with using Export/Import via the Registry Editor.
