What is my best option for backing up my system. I only
want to back up all of my files, but there are quite a
few. Is there a quick way, I know when I used to work we
used to have a backup program, but it's been a while
since I had to do that. We are having to do so work on
my machine and I don't want to take any chances on losing
my information. I do have Nero, is that my best option
for getting my files to disk?

Thanks,

lantonel

There is an easy way that you can backup your files, documents, and data. Follow this path for XP's backup wizard..
Start>Programs>Accessories>SystemTools>Backup

I recommend either creating a backup on your local drive, transfer the backup file to disk later. This can take up to three hours depending on how much data you are backing up and the processor speed.

Hope that help

If Nero includes an option to make an "image" which includes all
of the "system state" settings, it should work

If not, do a search for Backup MyPC from Stomp

Backup MyPC will write a backup to CD or DVD (spanning discs as
needed) and includes all system settings for a full restore

For Win2k it will create a boot/restore set (6 3.5" disks) so I
presume it will do the same for WinXp

If you only want to backup files and not the whole system I
would use Nero. Make sure that INCD is installed. Buy a
CDRW and format it. Then use ntbackup and backup straight
to the cd. This is the method I use.

Use a Raid1 array... saves time and money in long run; well, depends what
machine you run.
