backing up mp3s

I want to reinstall xp on my comp but i first want to save my mp3s. I 'm having trouble figuring out how to do this as i want to keep them in mp3 format, Any help would be appreciated.
 
2 choices, burn to cd/dvd, install a 2nd hard drive
(external or internal)

Open your CD-Burning application and create a DATA DISC.
