Outlook has a very simple & straightforward backup system which can be set,
for example, to run every time you close Outlook. Does anybody out there know
of a way to configure OE to do the same?

OE does not include such a feature, no.

When OE-QB is installed in the same folder as OETool, you can use OETool's
OE-QB button to backup quickly.

Thank you for that information. I have had a look at the sites you listed and
OE-QuickBackup and OE-Tool together look as though they will do what I want.
Does it matter which of the two I install first?

Please include all of previous message(s) in your replies to the newsgroup.

No, just install them in the same program folder.
