I received a new notebook running Vista business, and I took out the HD of my
old notebook (XP) to use it as an external HD. I put it into an external
enclosure and it works fine. Now I need to move the files on that HD to
another medium (DVD). Is there a way in Vista to create a disk image on DVD
of a HD that is not the C: drive? Ideally I would like to back up the HD to
DVD so that in case I need it again, I can restore the HD to it's present
state, put it into the laptop and boot up the laptop. If that is not
possible, I would like to simple get access to the files on the HD. Does
Vista provide that possibility? I tried the backup and restore center, and it
did not give me any options, just started to backup all files on the computer
(C to the external HD. Are there options to use that applet to backup
everything on drive F: to DVD?
