Could someone please tell me how to backup my individual drive partitions
i.e.: F:Music - G: Pictures - D: desktop, downloads , and documents etc. to
discs (cd or DVD)? I am a little challenged in this respect. The last time
I tried to backup my partitions to external hard drive, I made copies of
them instead. I don't think you can restore lost files with copies. My os is
on 750gb hd. My partitions with data are on 1 TB HD, 6 partitions.
I have 2 new DVD/cdrw drives. I have Vista Ultimate , I have Windows Media
Player which makes discs, I have terebyte unlimited, Roxio Creator Premier.
Are one of these good for doing that? Thank you

A backup IS a copy. That's all it is.

Just copy and paste wherever you want or use a sync utility such as SyncToy
or others free on the web.
To restore whole partitions (images of a whole partition) use Acronis True
Image 11 - $50 or less. There are free imaging utilities but they require
some computing skills.
