When backing up to a CD-R, I get the message that the
disk is full and the back-up could not be completed. It
then closes. Why won't it let me just put a new, empty CD-
R in the drive and continue the operation?

Jason;
NTBACKUP is a very basic back-up application and incapable of back-up
to multiple CDs.
You have 2 choices:
Break data down to size that fits on a single CD
Get a 3rd party application capable of writing to multiple CDs.

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping to create a backup to
my C drive including a bootable disk. I guess I upgraded
for nothing. Jason

Jason,

NTBackup does not support CDs or DVDs, so an option that's often suggested
is to back up to a file and then just copy that file to the CD. In terms of
a solution that allows you to do a complete back up and span multiple CDs,
it's going to require a third-party backup program.

As the others have written use a 3rd party backup program, or do as I did » have the ASR wizard write the .bkf file to a 2nd HDD. It is faster than writing to CD and easier to write a new file when things change on your setup. It does work, all (everything) on your system drive (except the OS) is written to the file.
