Backgrounds of emails

I am trying to use a picture (jpeg) as a background for
my emails. I get the picture to come up but it is tiled
and I want it not to be. I read in a book there is a
tiled/untiled box you can check, but I can't find it.
 
That option is for desktop backgrounds. A HTML-formatted mail doesn't really
have a beginning or an end so it is hard to stetch a picture then.
