Sometimes when I have a presentation that has a JPEG or
BMP image as a background, I try to copy the slides into
another presentation, and the image does not get copied.
Just the text gets copied, andI have to insert the
background picture again. Other slides it works just
fine. I have no idea what the difference is. Does anyone
know why a background is copied sometimes and not others?
Thanks,

I suspect it's got to do with a combination of factors -- how you
inserted the picture in the first place (Insert/Picture/From File vs
Format/Background/Fill Effects/Picture), what template is used in the
presentation you're inserting the pictures into, what settings are used
in the presentation you're inserting the pictures into, what slide
layouts you've used on the slides you're copying, etc.

I'd have to do a bunch of testing to nail down specifics, though, and
that still might not nail down which combination is causing the behavior
on your end.

It will depend on how you got the pictures into PowerPoint in the first
place and how you copy the slides from presentation to presentation.

If the picture is part of the slide master instead of a particular slide it
won't copy from presentation to presentation.

If you did Insert, Picture, From File and added the picture to the slide
itself, it should copy along with the rest of the stuff on the slide.
