Antispyware told me it found spyware on my computer. I ran the program, took
care of said spyware (supposedly), and finished all it told me to do. My
desktop still has the image 'you have spyware!' more or less, and will not
let me change it.
How the hell do i get my desktop back?

Can you let us know what the s[yware is and where its
being detected ?

For MSAS goto "tools" on the top bar then "SpywareScan",
next goto "View Spyware Scan History", then choose the
latest scan results and click "View Full details of scan"
from the bottom right of the screen, then copy and paste
that back here (Left click and cover the text-Right click
and copy, Then right click in a response here and choose
pªste)

It will be alot easier to help you remove it once we know
what it is and where its saved intº.

Good luck

Restart in Safe Mode and run the scan there. If that doesn't get it then:

One cure that should work is to uninstall MSAS and all related files and
then reinstall it. The one problem with this cure is that all info that you
have will be lost. Make a copy and save it for reuse.

This thread is all over the map.

I think what you are seeing is an html image on your desktop. Right-click
an empty space on the desktop, and choose properties.

Click Desktop, then "Customize desktop", then the Web tab.
Clear checkmarks from anything you see on that tab, and see if that fixes
it.

I have a similar problem, and a possible workaround.
if you minimize MSAS while it scans, and it found some spyware, the View
Results button on the Spyware Scan Results screen doesn't work.
If you minimize all other windows (AOL in my case), View Results will close
the Spyware Scan Results Window, and then you can click on MSAS on the
taskbar to bring it back.

Bill, I think you may be right about the overlay of a web page on the
desktop, but when I try what you said there are no boxes checked. ALso I am
locked out of changing to a differnt picture on the background. I can see my
icons thru the blue "SPYWARE DETECTED" screen but there is a jagged edge
around their perifery. I used MSAS and it found and deleted 11 issues but did
not correct this problem. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Brian
