Background problems

Guest

i choose a picture to use as my background and it works, but when its
displayed its either really stretched or when the tile position or centre
position is selected it just zooms in to a section of the photo and is not
displayed as its says.

Does anyone know why this is? and can anyone help me?

Thank you :)

The picture is not the same size as your desktop and that's why these two
options create unusual views of the picture. Your best bet is to get a
desktop background that is the same size (1024x768, or 1240x800 or whatever)
as your desktop and use that.

You need to use a picture that is the correct size for the screen resolution
you are using. If you have the screen resolution set to 1024x768, then you
need a picture that same size. A smaller picture will always be stretched or
show the behavior you are seeing.

A smaller picture should not be stretched either horizontally or vertically if
the third option from the left-- the center position (middle of the five
position options) is selected.

Perhaps clicking the "Change background color" link next to the position icons
and first selecting a background color will work.

Smaller pictures than my display resolution and of various sizes are displayed
perfectly centered and with no distortion here.
