background pictures

How can I remove pictures from the list of background
choices. Somehow I ended up with all of the pictures
in 'my pictures' in that list and some of them are
duplicated. I tried to highlight the picture in the list
and hit the delete key but nothing happened. I do not see
any way of removing a picture from the list once it's
there. I'm sure there is a very simple way of doing this,
I hope, but I can't seem to find it.

They are called "wallpaper" and are in the following

directory: C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper
You can use Windows Explorer to delete them by holding
down the Ctrl key and click each one you want to delete
then rightclick and delete all highlighted at once.
Windows Explorer is at:
Start/AllPrograms/Accessories/WindowsExplorer

Thanks Jake but that didn't work because every time I

click on WindowsExplorer it brings up 'my documents'. I
have Windows XP and I'm getting frustrated because I find
it a lot more difficult to do things that use to be so
easy in '98. I would know how to get to Windows Explorer
in '98 and did it all the time. I am clicking on the
Windows Explorer so I don't know why my documents is
opening.
If you know of any other way to for me to remove these
pictures please let me know.
