background picture

hi,
when i login to windows, a picture appears, which then
disappears on the appearance of desktop and task bar. this picture
again appears when i logoff or shutdown the computer. whats the way to
get rid of this picture.

Are you using the fluffy Fisher-Price GUI (Welcome Screen)? If so,
you can assign a picture to your account so it displays alongside each
account. Supposedly looking at pictures is somehow supposed to be
faster than recognizing your written username. Yeah, we all know how
fast hieroglyphics can be read ... not! Maybe that's the picture you
are talking about. It's part of your login setup. The first thing I
do after installing Windows XP is to kill the fluff UI (and also get
rid of Fast User Switching) so you'll need to hunt through the help
already included in Windows on configuring your icon for the
Fisher-Price login list or wait until another user responds that still
uses that fluff UI.
 
i assume u are talking about the login picture, that we assign to our
login account like the default football etc or own custom picture. no
the picture i mentioned is different from them, as the default login
picture is set to football.
 
Check your screensavers to see if it is one of them. Control panel--
display---screensaver---
