I am in the process of setting up a new Windows XP
laptop, I previously used Windows 98. In Windows 98 I
used a background pattern, called field effect. How do I
transfer or setup this pattern in Windows XP? I do not
see any option to do this.

Thanks.

If you no longer have access to a running Windows 98
(Win98) program, your best bet is to try searching for it
on the net (Google, Yahoo, etc.).

If you do have access to a running Win98 program, you
should be able to find it if the wallpaper came with
Win98. Use the Find option in the Start bar and select
Files or Folders: Then search for the name of the
wallpaper you want. If it appears in the window. Find a
blank floppy disk and put it in your computers floppy
drive. Right-click on the file you want, select 'Send to:
3½ Floppy'.

You can check to see if it made it to the disk by double-
clicking on 'My Computer' and then on '3½ Floppy'.

Put the disk into the computer that has WinXP and copy the
file from the disk to anywhere on your computer.

Then set your backgroup (aka: wallpaper) to that file. If
you need assitance on how to do this... don't hesitate to
post again here at the community.

It is just a blank background with a purple color and the
field effect pattern. I have done a search for field and
did not find it. I have also done a search with Google
and did not find any pattern to download. I do have
access to the Windows 98 computer so if you can let me
know where to find a pattern that would be great.

Thanks.
