Can anyone enlighten me on how to make background music
with Powerpoint.

What i want to do is to play a background music during my
presentation... who can i do it. As i insert music/sound
on the silde, it works only on that particular slide.

Thanks in advance

Eric

You can choose the number of slides over which the music
will continue to play, and you can also choose whether the
show will pause while the music plays or continue. This
is done inside the custom animation dialogue box (on
the "Slide Show" toobar menu). Make sure that the Media
is highlighted in the order and timing tab (click on it
once if it isn't), then click the Multimedia Settings tab,
where you'll see the options I mentioned.

Incidentally, if you need custom music for your
presentation, I can create it for you at very reasonable
rates.

Eric,
After inserting you sound or CD track right click on the
CD icon and go to Custom Animation. Make sure Media is
check marked and click the button that says continue
playing slide show and then below that you can tell it to
play through however many slides you want.

Can I add a twist to this question? I had this working
great for a high school reunion show created in PP 2000.
Now that my work has "upgraded" my laptop to Windows XP
and Ppt 2002, my custom animation to play from track 3
for 15 slides now plays from track 3 for 15 slides, but
it starts at the top of the track on each slide (instead
of continuing the song). Is there a simple fix -- I
don't want to have to go re-animate 136 slides all over
if I can avoid it.
(I'm now working on the college reunion). Thanks --
