There are a couple of templates that will change with the color schemes -- I
think clouds.pot and ocean.pot are two of them, but I can't remember the
others (or if there even are any others, for that matter!). Microsoft added
some magic to those particular templates to make this happen. Try starting
with one of those two templates and then inserting your own pix as the
background the way you described.

I used PPT 2003 for the one that worked and for this one.
To insert the picture I used; Format, Background, Fill Effects, Picture
and
then selected the photo from its location. I tried the same method this
time
and all I get is the 4 color image.

Which version of PPT are you using?
How did you insert your image previously? This time?

HELP!
I previously selected my own image as a background and PP converted it
to
a
monotone color that can be changed with the color schemes. Exactly what
I
want.
Now when I try to use a new image it comes in as the original 4 color
and
I
can't change it to the monotone color.
Any idea how I did this originally? All help is greatly appreciated!
