Good morning,

I wondered if someone could kindly tell me how to change the background
colour on the pictures and fax viewer, from white to black (as it is in the
slideshow mode.)

Best wishes,
Canna.

You have to change every programs background from white to black. Sure you want to do that?

Press F11 after you open the photo, it gives you the slide show display.
Press space bar to hold the picture there and use the arrow keys to move
through the set of pictures.
Press Esc to come back.

I think it uses default window background color which u can customize
for all windows from Control Panel -> Display -> Appearance -> Advanced:
Window

To customize just for Image & Fax viewer, perhaps you can try the apps
like TweakXP or "Actual Transparent Windows"
(http://www.actualtools.com) which can control parameters of individual
windows...

Note: I havent tried it but seems possible from the description. Please
post back your experience.

Many thanks for your replies - my apologies for not coming back sooner, I
thought I'd checked the 'let me know about replies to posts' button....but
obviously hadn't.

David, thanks for the warning!!!

Yves, I will definitely do this - sounds my way of tackling things.

Rehan, I'm a bit too much of an amateur to follow up your suggestion, if I
have something less drastic to try (ie Yves suggestion.)

I'm printing it out though for future reference.

Many thanks again for your help. It is much appreciated.

Canna.
