Background Applications

I notice that when I start up my computer and I press
Ctrl+Alt+Delete and look at the current processes, there
is 31 running. Two of these I can easily close.
(Realplayer and Quicktime)

What I am wondering is if someone knew what some of these
applications are that are classified under the SYSTEM name.

imonNT.exe
svchost.exe (there is 5 of these....)
spoolsv.exe
Rtvscan.exe
Defwatch.exe
Ctsvccda.exe
Isass.exe
services.exe
winlogon.exe
csrss.exe
smss.exe

If you are able to tell me whether these are Microsoft
applications or whatever, that would be great.

Nope, imonNT.exe is from Intel, Ctsvccda.exe os from Creative and
Rtvscan.exe and Defwatch.exe are part of Norton.

Also you should see about 5 instances of svchost.exe.
