Is there a way unofficially to login as administrator on Windows 2000
without resetting passwords, etc? I want to be able to login as admin
or have admin priveleges without actually being an admin. It might
sound illegal but I'm just looking for some help here. Is there a way
to "bypass" these restrictions when running a file etc? Any help would
be appreciated. Thanks!

Not really. If you know administrator credentials you can use runas to
execute programs etc that require administrative rights while being logged
on as a regular user. Of course anyone gaining unfettered physical access to
a computer running any operating system can use methods to access data and
make changes with the possible exception of encrypted data if the
corresponding private keys are not on the computer or otherwise
ccessable. --- Steve

Nope, you either need to know the old password and log on with it or stomp the old password and log on with it.

Sure there is. All secure systems have backdoors so anyone could
defeat the security...

Okay, sarcasm ended. Your answer is no.

Your post is confusing.
You keep saying login, but you mentioned running a file
I take it as you want to run a program or service without
having to logon, is that correct???

if so you can schedule a program to run as and use the
administrators login and password, using the scheduler.
then you don't have to actually be there at the console to
run it.

Hi

your needs are not very clear. however, is what you are after is is how to
execute applications with administrative privielges .. without being an
admin then check out NeoExec from NeoValens (www.neovalens.com)
