I'm trying to fix/repair a PC for a friend who has Window 2K pro loaded on it, only he can't remember the password(s) for his user or administrator. Does anyone know how to bypass the login. All I'm looking to do is pull a few files off the machine. Doing it at the DOS level would work fine

Thanks in advance

Mark

Hi Mark. See the FAQ for tips. Renaming the sam file or uising the linux boot disk
usually work well. --- Steve

Hi Mark

You have a few options
Reinstall
put another Hard Drive in the PC what supports NTFS/FAT
and boot off this then you will be able to see this other
drive it will come up as D: etc.

There is a L utility called Trinity Rescue Kit that is a
bootable CD that you can gain accesst to various
Filesystems just by booting from CD and it works a treat.
