Kaspersky AV had picked this up in my Windows/System32 folder. I cannot use
the AV software to disinfect or delete the infected file. I have tried
manually to delete the file and I simply get access denied. I cannot find
anything out about this virus by looking it up in virus encyclopaedias.
Basically, I don't know what it does and I don't know how to get rid of it -
any suggestions very gratefully received.

Boot into Safe Mode as Administrator and try moving it to another folder on
your drive like "C:\Suspicious". You may have to Boot into Safe Mode using
Command Prompt to do this.
I did a Google on this and came up only with a definition update by KAV. No
info on the file itself. I'd recommend not "deleting" it until you've sent
it to several AV developers for analysis.
