Want to back up a usb hard drive to DVD, did Mis\crosoft ever create a
program to do such a thing?

If So, where is it?

Can't get Nero to work consistantly.

Too bad they didn't include in in the media player, would have nb\been a
good place for it.

Thanks

Actually Media Player would have been one of the worst places to place such
an option as it's not related in any way to anything other than audio and
video, a better option would have been to update the current NTBackup
program which currently can't write to CD/DVD.
How mach data is on the USB drive? For a basic data copy I find Nero works
very well.

Well, Nero will do disc 1 of three, then errors out of disc 2 & three.

I need something a little more reliable.

Thanks

I use a program called Drive XML that is free and pretty neat. I don't think
it'll back up directly to CD, but it can create backups in 6xx MB chunks on
your hd, which you could then copy to CD/DVD by hand.

There is a backup program included in XP [it's under Accessories/System
Tools] but I've never used it, so I don't know what it's capable of. It's
probably a stripped-down version of some commercial program though.
