The backup utility on my Windows XP is not letting me back
up to E, my writable CD RW. The message I get is that it
is not a valid path and/or that I do not have sufficient
access? Is it a driver issue?

I dont think the mvp understands the question.
Try backing up to a folder that you created, then transfer the folder
to a cd.However you should use file transfer wizard for back-up,set
current comp. to old,transfer to file,file to cd,its a better back-up
than, back-up.
