I've read a number of the threads in this NG, but would still like
some guidance.

Which freeware package would the group recommend which would allow me
to backup data and burn to CD.

I have just begun using Cobian Backup. So far I like it. For more
information, check out the review done by Buzzy.

Doesn't include it's own CD Burner, but you can use your own burning
software to create the CD.

Hi thanks for the link - but I don't find this package very user
friendly, perhaps I don't understand the interface!!

What sort of problem were you having?

I have it set-up as a service on Windows XP. I selected the folders that I
wanted it to back-up, the destination folder, then created a schedule. I
found this to be very easy.

I'm using Win98SE and my CD burning software is Nero Express. What I'm
not sure about is how to configure the software to back up to CD.

Hmmm........I think you may have misunderstood my original reply to your
post.

When I said "Doesn't include it's own CD Burner, but you can use your own
burning
software to create the CD." I meant that you will have to create the backup
first, then burn that folder to CD using your burning program.
