Back-up in XP

IS there a fix so that I can back-up using XP to another
media (cd) besides backing up to a floppy. Understand
that in Win NT you could only back up to floppy, and
seems that is the same with XP. I know I can use anothe
program eg: Norton Ghost, but was hoping the MS has a
patch to fix this problem.
