I thought I could find my .pst file and save to reload
after reformatting. "search" shows no .pst files found.
How do I go about saving Contacts and mail folders, and
how do I move them back to Outlook after reinstalling?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

If you're using Windows 2000 or XP, the .PST files may be in hidden or
system folders, so you'll need to make sure your search includes those
folder types.

Is the .PST file marked read-only? Outlook needs write access to it...
