Running WXP, 24X CD-RW/DVD Combo
Reference MS Knowledge Base Articles #302894, 308422, 309340
Recently got new computer with CD burner. I want to back up some of my
files so did some research in the above listed articles (How to install
backup, use back up, etc. in XP). I could find no evidence that the
computer came with back up s/w installed. Article 302894 gives steps but I
am stumped in step 1 already. Per this article, I inserted the XP home
edition disk but could not find the Ntbackup.msi file or the
\VALUEADD\MSFT\NTBACKUP file it was supposed to be in. Also, a "help"
technician told me to just use the Sonic s/w that came with my computer.
The tech could not clearly explain the difference between these two systems.
Also, I need clarification on the CD-RW disks. If I manage to back up files
on one of these disks, can I write over it the next time I back up? How
many times can I write over?
Any help would be appreciated. Thx
