Back to the Future: 5929 keeps overwriting 5731?

I can manually update to the latest definitions
(currently 5731) but every night when the program
automatically checks for updates, it downloads 5729
again!

Anyone have a work-around for this?? This is really
getting tiresome...

Shutdown MS AntiSpyware. Right click the following and "Save target as..."

http://download.spynet.com/ASDefinitions/gcThreatAuditThreatData.gcd

Copy/paste these files to Program files/Microsoft Antispyware

Restart MSAS and "check for updates".
 
Oh, the joys of beta testing! The manual technique must
drive CSO's with many users to distraction! But it works,
and this is BETA software and users are expected to
participate in making it work, so suck it up and when a
fix arrives, your life will be easier.
