Back plate question

I assume that the back plate for the A64 on the back of the motherboard
touches the case, it's okay, right? I know the motherboard itself isn't
supposed to or it'll short out, but is the back plate fine if it makes
contact with the case?

the back plate should be and is part of the case and only
touches the k/board and other ports added to the mainboard
for earthing reasons and such like but not the board it'self.

Sorry I didn't specify better, but I meant the back plate that goes behind
the motherboard for Athlon 64 boards that's there for extra support when
you're mounting the heatsink and what holds the retention frame... and by
the way, this back plate was touching the case, but I gave it a shot anyhow
and it's working fine, so I guess that means it's fine if it's touching the
case.

sorry, any how my cpu back plate is touching aswell
but mine is plastic on my dfi 754-lanparty.
my previous board or should i say case came with plastic type
clip supports for the amd64 chips but i never used them.
clad to see yours is o.k though.
